A brand new singing synthesizer built from the ground up to "just work" with over ten thousand user-made voice libraries. Why singing synthesis?
The singing voice is our most personal music instrument, and it's time we start using it like that again. The singing synthesis industry has become too obsessed with realistic vocals and replacing the human. We're here to reclaim it for the makers it was made for.
What can it do?
Mikoto Studio combines decades of community-based concatenative synthesis research with the latest innovations in expressive AI singing synthesis. Two powerful rendering engines behind one seamless interface, allowing you focus on what matters most: creating. Use our proprietary lineup of AI-based virtual singers or go classic with thousands of existing user-made voicebanks - the choice is yours!
From the very beginning, Mikoto Studio was developed to improve the creative experience of working with vocal synths. Compatibility with existing workflows plays a major role in achieving this. This is why we spend a lot of time developing and testing support for the countless UTAU voicebanks that have been developed over the past two decades. Mikoto Studio offers plug-and-play compatibility with an ever-growing number of languages and voicebank configuration types. And if support for your voicebank isn't implemented yet, Mikoto includes what you need to add it yourself.
Mikoto Studio is designed to take language support to a whole new level. Instead of baking each individual language into our synthesis engine, we developed a blazing fast plugin ecosystem called the LSM Runtime. Through these modules, adding new languages to Mikoto becomes a breeze! And to make the most of this feature's potential, we join hands with local development teams to bring you a diverse set of language - some of which have never been featured in a commercial singing synthesizer before.
Mikoto Studio packs support for many standards in digital music making and singing synthesis. Import most popular vocal synth project file formats, record audio and MIDI in real-time, or program Open Sound Control sequences right in your editor. With planned support for hosting CLAP plugins, Mikoto will offer a fully integrated music creation workflow.
Audio recording, Open Sound Control, and CLAP plugin support are not available in the Early Access Preview.
At ExpressiveLabs, we believe that creative tools should be accessible to anyone who wants to use them. This is why we made accessibility and ease of use our top priorities in the design of Mikoto Studio. Every voice in Mikoto Studio belongs to a real person who chose to be here. We never train on scraped audio, never synthesize voices without explicit consent, and publish our ethics commitments openly so you can hold us to them.
