A brand new singing synthesizer built from the ground up to "just work" with over ten thousand user-made voice libraries. Features
Seamless plug-and-play
From the very beginning, Mikoto Studio was developed to improve the creative experience of working with vocal synths. Compatibility with existing workflows plays a major role in achieving this. This is why we spend a lot of time developing and testing support for the countless UTAU voicebanks that have been developed over the past two decades. Mikoto Studio offers plug-and-play compatibility with an ever-growing number of languages and voicebank configuration types. And if support for your voicebank isn't implemented yet, Mikoto includes what you need to add it yourself.
As a team made up of musicians and vocal synth community veterans, we understand and value the UTAU community like no other. We are committed to protect your freedom to create your own voicebanks, and we actively develop new tools to help you with this.
Think outside the box
Mikoto Studio packs support for many standards in digital music making and singing synthesis. Import most popular vocal synth project file formats, record audio and MIDI in real-time, or program Open Sound Control sequences right in your editor. With planned support for hosting CLAP plugins, Mikoto will offer a fully integrated music creation workflow.
Tower of Babel no more
Mikoto Studio is designed to take language support to a whole new level. Instead of baking each individual language into our synthesis engine, we developed a blazing fast plugin ecosystem called the LSM Runtime. Through these modules, adding new languages to Mikoto becomes a breeze! And to make the most of this feature's potential, we join hands with local development teams to bring you a diverse set of language - some of which have never been featured in a commercial singing synthesizer before.
At launch, Mikoto Studio will support English, Japanese, Indonesian, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, and Dutch. More languages will be added in the future, in collaboration with development partners from all around the world.
Designed for humans
At ExpressiveLabs, we believe that creative tools should be accessible to anyone who wants to use them. This is why we made accessibility and ease of use our top priorities in the design of Mikoto Studio. We work with people from many backgrounds and take advice from specialized researchers to ensure that our software can adapt to most accessibility needs.
A selection of accessibility features that we have planned for Mikoto Studio:
- UI translations to all languages supported by Mikoto Studio
- Customizable screen reader messages throughout the program
- Multiple control modes (mouse, keyboard, natural language commands, MIDI devices)
- UI themes with high-contrast options
- Dyslexia-friendly font options

Four currently implemented UI themes in Mikoto Studio: the default Utrecht Dark, Catppuccin Mocha, Synthwave, and Catppuccin Latte. More themes will be added.
